How can I transfer my energy during a game into words of expression?
How can the world feel my emotions and not mistake it for obsession?
It’s a high dose of intensity that runs through my body in anticipation
For the hottest thing live playing on any T.V. station
You have to live it to understand it, let me introduce you to the game
And I promise, once a fan, you will never be the same
Let’s take a stroll down the tunnel, can you hear the fans roar?
We are home field advantage, our liveliness provokes the score
We tale gate in parking lots cheering our teams on all the way
We take the stands and shouts drown out what any one has to say
We hold up signs with  clever phrases for all the world to read
And every face painted is entertainment on every broadcast feed
Jerseys are worn with pride, knowing that our team is the best
We shout and scream until you see the veins popping out of our necks
But there is panic, pain, and anguish if the game is on the line
Can you see our hopes hanging on the ticks of the play clock as it winds?
The play call, the snap, the quarterback’s five steps back
The blitz is coming, he’s out the pocket
Will he throw it? Will he drop it?
His best receiver is open but can he make the connection?
The pressure is on, we can’t afford an interception
Our hearts race as we watch the last play of the game
IT’S GOOD! TOUCHDOWN! And the FANS go INSANE!
So for the record, if you hear me yelling “Kill him” at the opponent
I don’t mean that literally, I’m just a Football fan In the Moment!

Football Fans In The Moment!

Sunday February 1st 2009 is the day that millions of Americans will sit in front of televisions nation wide to tune into the NFL Superbowl XLIII. The two contenders to face eachother for the Championship title are the Arizona Cardinals and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Some people watch the Superbowl simply because it seems like the thing to do. It's a reason for lots of fun foods and drinks with your best buddies. Others watch for the commercials that are often the most talked about thing at work on Monday. Others watch for the half-time performances and others...like myself, watch for the love of the GAME! It has been a season of many twists and turns, unexpected injuries, losses, and wins, and finally we arrive at the point where we see who will reign as the new Champions. The excitement is in the air and true football fans have begun the countdown!!!! So for those true football fans, I have written a poem that expresses the excitement we feel when we watch them game. Hope you enjoy!!!!
